College Students Launch Tour to Revolutionize U.S. Education System

submission by Shashzilla

Describe the creative youth microprojects that your nonprofit would fundraise for if you win.

The iSchool Initiative is a student led, non-profit organization focused on improving the American Education System. We are raising funds for our 2nd annual nationwide bus tour, known as the ‘Digital Learning Revolution” Tour, to revolutionize our education system!

Last year, we were able to reach an audience of over 10,000 educators and visit schools in over 22 cities. This year, we plan to impact an even larger audience, but can only do so with the help of the “Give For Youth” community.

The American Education System is in desperate need of reform; students and teachers alike are disengaged and find school uninspiring. We strive to bring creativity, success, and wonder back to American schools through motivational keynotes that inspire the necessary mindset for reform in education. In addition, schools that are deploying digital devices are supported by our team of experts who consult and provide hands-on workshops to make implementation fun and simple.

Explain how possibly gaining funding through the Give for Youth platform would better able you to complete these projects.

Gaining funding through the Give For Youth platform would afford us the financial means necessary to launch the second iteration of our tour and continue to inspire reform in education.

By raising funding, we will be able to provide our services for free this year. These services include inspiring the necessary mindset for reform in education through motivational keynotes, conducting a variety of hands-on workshops to show students how technology can revolutionize their education, and guiding schools in the implementation of this technology.

This funding provides our team the opportunity to travel for a longer duration, reach out to more schools than ever before, and affords us the time necessary to assess the specific needs of districts individually.

Contributions will ensure the employment of a tour driver, safe and convenient hotel accommodations, costs of transportation, equipment rental, and event insurance.

Describe why your nonprofit is innovative and entrepreneurial.

Reforming education is at the heart of what we do and who we are.

Our workshops are engineered in-house based on the needs and interests of specific schools. Created by our team of highly-trained college students, these workshops provide a unique and refreshing perspective on the use of technology in education. Each workshop addresses the usability of mobile applications and demonstrates how digital devices cater to multiple learning styles while adhering to core curriculum standards.

Our non-profit sees technology as a needed resource in education that can break down the walls of traditional school structures while creating new opportunities to learn. We believe technology has a potential to reshape school cultures, enrich the curriculum, and enhance every facet of what we do in education while making learning more relevant and meaningful for students.
