Through the use of Yoga, our "Be the Change..." project addresses some of the major components associated with bullying.
We are committed to alleviating bullying and other self defeating behaviors that are prevalent among today’s youth.
The "Be the Change..." project teaches life changing skills to youth in schools, community centers and juvenile detention centers. Using basic yoga postures, challenging physical exercise, breathing and deep relaxation techniques to reduce compulsive behavior, lower stress and increase mental and physical vitality.
Gaining funding through the Give for Youth platform would allow us to bring our program to places we may have not been able to reach in the past. It will allow our organization to spend less time on raining funds and more time on helping the children who need our program the most.
Since its inception in 1993, Y.O.G.A. for Youth has served over 16,000 young people in Los Angeles county alone. Y.O.G.A. for Youth is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to creating opportunities for youth to practice yoga and relaxation in schools, community facilities, hospitals and detention centers.
The Y.O.G.A. for Youth curriculum translates ancient scientific yogic tools into a language youth can understand and apply to daily life. Unique programs have been designed to combat a myriad of issues that plague our youth today including stress, anger, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, poor concentration and obesity.
